Biography

Ms. Silverman earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Brown University in 1976 and her Juris Doctor from Duke Law School in 1981.  She is admitted to practice in North Carolina.  Ms. Silverman is a member of the Estate Planning and Fiduciary Law and Business Sections of the North Carolina Bar Association and a member of the American College of Equine Attorneys. 

 

Ms. Silverman has previously published articles in the Journal of Taxation and in The Will and the Way, a publication of the Estate Planning and Fiduciary Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.

 

Ms. Silverman has been practicing law in Charlotte, North Carolina since her graduation from Duke Law School.  She has extensive experience in the areas of trusts and estates, taxation, tax controversy work, general business planning, Superior Court mediation (as a certified mediator) and equine law. 

 

Ms. Silverman practiced law with the firm of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, a full-service law firm with offices across the United States, until she began her own practice in 2009.  At Katten, Ms. Silverman concentrated in the estate planning and estate administration areas.
